Charitable Gifts
Timbercrest is a faith based, mission driven, not-for-profit organization. As such, it relies on gifts from individuals, businesses, and Churches of the Brethren for support in carrying out its ministry.
Current Gifts. . . are those that fund a portion of the current operating budget.
Unrestricted gifts are used at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Presently, all unrestricted gifts help pay the costs of those residents whose financial resources have been depleted.
Restricted gifts are those where the donor has designated a specific purpose for which the gift is to be used. A few examples include charitable assistance, entrance fee assistance, and health care renovations. Many other options of restricted giving are available.
Endowment fund gifts are never spent. The dollars contributed to this fund remain in it permanently. The income earned from the fund is spent in the operating budget to help defray charitable assistance expense.
Planned Gifts . . . are those that Timbercrest will receive at some point in the future. Here are the two most common forms.
Charitable gift annuities are created when a donor makes a charitable gift to Timbercrest in exchange for life income. Since rates are based in part on age, the income rate increases as the donor ages. Income may be based on either one or two lives.
Bequests are established in your estate distribution through your will or trust. Options include a fixed amount, a percentage of the estate or a percentage of the residual estate. Your remembrance of Timbercrest in your estate plan strengthens its financial foundation and ensures that its ministry with older adults will continue vibrantly in the future.
